Sectional doors

A sectional door is today the most popular choice for single and double garages. The door leaf is made up of horizontal panels joined by hinges; as the door opens, they lift upwards and tuck away under the ceiling. Nothing projects beyond the outline of the garage, so you can park your car right in front of it and the driveway doesn't need to be long.

With garage doors in Białystok, insulation isn't an extra — it's the foundation. Our winters can be punishing, and the garage usually adjoins the house. Panels filled with polyurethane foam reduce heat loss and quieten the interior. If the garage is heated or connected to the living area, it's worth asking about a thicker panel and better bottom and side seals.

Insulation and panels

We match the panels to the character of the façade and the front door. You can choose horizontal grooves, cassette styling or a smooth surface, and the colours can be coordinated with your windows and external doors — most customers in Białystok go for anthracite, brown or white. The surface can also be finished with a woodgrain texture if the rest of the joinery follows that look.

Under-ceiling tracking

How the door stows away inside the garage depends on the height of the lintel and the space below the ceiling. Standard tracking works in most garages, but where the lintel is low or the ceiling slopes, low-headroom tracking or roof-pitch tracking is used instead. That's exactly what a free on-site measuring visit is for — we check the real dimensions and advise you on what will fit.

Roller doors

A roller door works differently from a sectional one — instead of lifting under the ceiling, it coils up into a box above the opening, much like external roller shutters. It's the solution for garages where there's no room beneath the ceiling, or when you want to use the ceiling space for storage, lighting or services.

The roller curtain is made up of narrow aluminium profiles, usually foam-filled. A roller door takes up minimal space inside the garage and gives you the freedom to park right up against it. It also works well where the driveway is tight and a classic up-and-over door would clash with a car parked in front of the garage.

When choosing between a sectional and a roller door, we're guided by what you actually have on site: the lintel height, the space below the ceiling, how the garage is used and your budget. At the measuring visit we'll show you which solution will work better for you, rather than pushing the pricier option for the sake of it.

Motors and remotes / safety

A garage door can be opened by hand, but in practice almost every customer chooses an electric motor. You pull up to the garage, press the remote and drive straight in without getting out of the car — in winter and in the rain that makes a real difference. We match the motor to the size and weight of the door so it runs smoothly and isn't strained in daily use.

Control

As standard, the motor comes with remotes, and opening can be expanded with smartphone control, an internal button by the door into the house, or a key switch or coded keypad outside. If you have a particular setup in mind — for example a single remote for both the garage door and the side gate — mention it when we quote and we'll put together the right kit for it.

Safety

• Photocells — stop and reverse the door if an obstacle, a car or a child appears in the opening.
• Finger-trap protection — the panel design reduces the risk of pinching as the door folds.
• Anti-drop protection — spring and track safeguards prevent the leaf from suddenly dropping.
• Emergency release — manual opening when the power is out, which can matter during winter outages.

The motor is also a matter of break-in protection — with the door shut it locks it mechanically, so it can't easily be lifted from outside.

Measuring and fitting

A well-working door starts with a thorough measure. We come out to you, check the width and height of the opening, the depth of the garage, the lintel height and the space below the ceiling, as well as the condition of the reveals and how the services are routed. Only then do we settle on the type of door, the kind of tracking and the motor. Measuring and quoting are free.

We set the door plumb and level, seal it, adjust the springs and the motor, and at the end we show you how to use the controls and how to release the door by hand. We also take after-sales care seriously — if something needs adjusting after a season, we come back.

We fit all year round, including in winter. A garage door itself is less sensitive to this than wet work, so frost usually doesn't hold up the job — what matters is the condition of the opening and a prepared spot for the motor. When we're done we clean up after ourselves and take away the old door if we're replacing an existing one.
